CTR Appoints Senior Oil and Gas Leader as Chief Operating Officer
Stuart Job joins CTR after a decade-plus at Shell
Controlled Thermal Resources Holdings Inc. (“CTR” or the “Company”) today announced the appointment of Stuart Job as Chief Operating Officer for the Company’s 650MW Geothermal Power and Critical Minerals Project at the Salton Sea in southern California.
Stuart joins CTR with more than twenty-five years of international energy and major project experience, including over fifteen years with energy giant Shell. His experience spans onshore, offshore, deepwater operations, global well engineering, major capital programs, operational risk management, and multidisciplinary team leadership.
Most recently, Stuart provided executive oversight of Shell’s maritime operations supporting offshore production and renewable initiatives across North, Central, and South America. Previously, he led four international engineering teams for deepwater projects across 20 countries and held operational and financial accountability for major Gulf of America assets, managing deepwater well operations programs supported by annual budgets of approximately US$350 million.
Over his career, Stuart has managed capital programs exceeding US$7 billion, delivering capital cost reductions of up to 40% through operational optimization and contract management. Prior to moving to the US with his family in 2013, he worked throughout the Asia Pacific, primarily in Australia, Papua New Guinea, China, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, and Japan, including providing consulting support to early-stage geothermal developments.
Rod Colwell, CEO of CTR, said:
“Stuart brings the operational leadership, major project experience, and execution discipline that CTR needs as we move into the next stage of our development.
Developing large-scale energy infrastructure requires disciplined capital management, rigorous safety practices, and the ability to manage complex technical and commercial interfaces. Stuart has built his career around these requirements, and his experience is highly relevant to the work ahead at CTR.
His appointment further strengthens our leadership team as we work with Baker Hughes and our other engineering, technology, and project delivery partners to advance CTR’s projects. We are very pleased to welcome Stuart to the team.”
Stuart Job, Chief Operating Officer of CTR, said:
“I am excited to join CTR at an important point in the Company’s development. The opportunity to contribute to the delivery of large-scale, reliable geothermal energy and critical minerals infrastructure is particularly compelling, and I look forward to working with the CTR team and our partners as we progress project execution.”
Stuart holds an MBA in Leadership & Entrepreneurship from the Jack Welch Management Institute at Strayer University, where he graduated as a Welch Scholar after completing his capstone on a 1GW geothermal development, and a First-Class Honours Bachelor of Engineering in Petroleum Engineering from the University of New South Wales.
