CTR in the Community

2022 has been an exciting and busy year in Imperial County with a number of events running around the community. Our local CTR Team were delighted to show their support and participate in an array of community initiatives, promoting healthy living, education and environmental awareness.

Ride your Bike to School Day

The CTR Team joined Calipat and Niland School’s for their ride your bike to school day events which took place twice throughout the year. Both rounds of the events were a success with great turn out of students and community members, riding bikes and walking a quarter mile to the school gates. CTR proudly donated 20 brand new bikes to these terrific programs, helping to support kids who need it most. We look forward to riding alongside Calipat and Niland’s students in 2023.

South West Softball

The Southwest Varsity Softball Team fought strongly against their rivals at several out-of-town tournaments in San Diego and Las Vegas. Unfortunately, the young team didn’t come out on top this time but CTR is proud to have played a part in making the away from home tournaments possible. We look forward to supporting the team as they grow and foresee many victories in the years to come!

The Salton Sea Stroll

The CTR team laced up their walking shoes for the Salton Sea Stroll in April. Hosted by the newly formed NorthEnd Alliance 111, the group of roughly 40 people took to Bombay Beach to raise awareness to the environmental issues surrounding the Salton Sea. Battling against the heat and dust, the stroll was over 2 miles in length and really cemented the need for environmental action in our backyard.

IVC Career Day

The CTR team had the opportunity to meet Imperial Valley’s next brightest minds at the IVC Career Day which saw over 500 people attend. Our team on the ground had many great conversations about future career opportunities with CTR across a range of role types with varied study requirements. There was also talk of technical career courses to help ready the next generation of industry superstars!

Westmorland Honey Festival

CTR is delighted to have sponsored the Westmorland Honey Festival in November. The event was a nice opportunity to spend time with community members and support local businesses. The team on the ground had some great discussions with families around jobs, community benefits from emerging local industry, environmental factors, and educational development programs that are helping to prepare CTR’s future workforce.

Safety & Wellness Fair

CTR joins the community for the 5th annual Safety and Wellness Fair in Calipatria. The fair created a fun and interactive learning environment for families with an array of safety topics on focus such as fire and emergency preparedness, school, home, community safety, bicycle and car safety. The CTR team had many great conversations with members of the community, and we are pleased to be able to show industry support for such an important topic.

Forgotten Angels Christmas Party

CTR was honored to participate as a gift sponsor at the Forgotten Angels Christmas Party. Forgotten Angels is a charitable organization whose purpose is to assist families in need in the Niland, Bombay Beach, and Slab city areas. The event saw 300 kids attend with their families where they enjoyed dinner, games, activities, treat bags, and a visit from Santa Claus, who arrived in a helicopter! This year, CTR was able to donate nearly one hundred Christmas gifts for children ages two to eighteen years old. It was a stellar event all round and CTR is extremely proud to be able to play a part in all the smiles shared.
