CTR is pleased to announce the appointment of Rob Moore as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Rob will move into the position previously held by Jim Turner, recently appointed President of the company.

As a former senior executive with global oil and gas company bp, Rob has achieved decades of commercial and operational success with an outstanding track record for building sustainable businesses, delivering high-quality outcomes, and strengthening the bottom line.

Most recently, Rob was Chief Operating Officer, Branded Markets for bp’s 7,000 site, North American branded fuel network, setting record annual network growth rates up over 200%. Other career highlights include delivering over 50% profitability growth in multiple refined products businesses through strategy development, portfolio diversification, and new market entry, and the global transformation of a lubricants business with 7,500 staff in more than 30 countries, achieving 30% cost efficiency while maintaining healthy growth.

“We are thrilled to have Rob join CTR’s executive leadership team,” CTR's Chief Executive Officer, Rod Colwell, said. "The impressive results Rob has achieved in his career with bp speak for themselves, but it’s much more than what's on paper. Rob's commitment to talent development and mentorship programs and his early background in health and safety are the solid foundations with which he was able to generate record growth in his divisions. Rob’s talent for building people-focused solutions to achieve operational excellence from the ground up is a rare skill and we are very excited Rob is joining CTR’s team at this pivotal time.”

With a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Clemson University in South Carolina and a passion for developing foundational training and culture at the core of business operations, Rob’s ability to grow businesses at scale has been proven time and time again.

“CTR’s vision to build a clean domestic supply of critical minerals in Imperial County’s Lithium Valley is exciting and well-timed,” Rob said. “I am so grateful for the opportunity to join this highly motivated team and to help make that vision a reality.”

Rob will move with his family from Chicago to Imperial in the coming months. He will report directly to Jim Turner.

As CTR’s newly appointed President, Jim will oversee the Operations and Revenue divisions and continue as Board Director. “Jim’s incredible and critical work to build CTR’s operations and attract a diverse and dedicated team of experts has been invaluable to CTR,” Rod said. “With Jim’s 30+ years’ experience in developing, building, and operating geothermal plants at the Salton Sea, and Rob’s skill sets in building and scaling global business divisions, CTR is perfectly positioned to meet its next development phase.”
